More than 15,300 photographs, postcards and other images are available through the Uno Langmann BC Historical Photograph Collection, one of the UBC Library Digital Collections. The collection is part of the $1.2 million Uno Langmann Family Collection of B.C. Photographs, which was donated by Uno and Dianne Langmann and Uno Langmann Limited. The collection comprises more than 18,000 rare and unique early photographs from the 1850s to the 1970s. It is considered the premiere private collection of early provincial photos, and an important illustrated history of early photographic methods. Additionally, the collection includes postcards, stereographs, menus, and other material that people in the late 19th or early 20th centuries choose to paste into photo albums.

Library users wishing to examine the collection firsthand can request items from the collection through UBC Library’s Rare Books and Special Collections.

Mr. Langmann  received an honorary degree in the May 22 Convocation.
